Our Team

Dr. Marguerite Paterson
Specialist Orthodontist
Marguerite is a Specialist Orthodontist. She graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (with Distinction) from the University of Otago in 2013. Upon graduation, she worked as a Dental and Maxillofacial House Officer at Waikato Hospital before moving to Auckland to work as a general dentist. She then returned to Auckland and Middlemore Hospitals as a Paediatric Dental Registrar where she developed a love for Orthodontics. After three years full-time specialist postgraduate training at the University of Otago, she graduated with a Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry.

Dr Paterson is a member of the New Zealand Association of Orthodontists (NZAO), the New Zealand Dental Association (NZDA) and the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. She is also involved in the Wish For a Smile Charity which provides free access to treatment to those whose families would otherwise be unable to afford orthodontic care.
Lucy Jolly
Orthodontic Auxiliary (in training)
Originally from the Waikato, Lucy now proudly calls Dunedin home, having lived in the city for over 12 years. With more than eight years of experience as a dental assistant in both private and public practices, she brings a wealth of knowledge and care to our team. Lucy completed her New Zealand Dental Association Dental Assisting Certificate in 2019, following earlier studies at the University of Otago.

Her own experience with braces as a teenager sparked a lasting interest in orthodontics, and she’s now training to become an Orthodontic Auxiliary. Lucy is friendly, gentle, and passionate about helping both children and adults feel comfortable and confident during their orthodontic journey. She finds great joy in seeing patients’ smiles transform and their confidence grow.

Outside of work, Lucy enjoys beach walks with her two Dachshunds, baking sweet treats, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.

Meg Dennis
Dental Assistant

Meg is a friendly new face in the world of dentistry, bringing her positive attitude and a wealth of life experience to our team. Although she’s new to the field, Meg has a strong background in customer care, having successfully run her own beauty therapy business.

She and her partner share a family of four adult children and live on a beautiful 28-acre farm in Taieri. When she’s not at the practice, Meg keeps busy hosting animal tours and pamper parties for kids—a perfect match for her natural talent with children.

Meg is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable and welcome from the moment they walk through the door. She’s excited to be part of our team and looks forward to making every visit a positive experience!
